Ad In Athletic & Ad In Tennis meets the needs of women who want to look and feel their best on the courts, trails, roads, courses and paths of life. Inspired by her own hard-to-fit petite frame as well as her four daughters of various sizes, Debra J. Gomez-Pugel founded Ad In Apparel Company in 1995. The name refers to the server’s advantage in a tennis game; “ad” is short for advantage and “in” denotes the person serving the ball and in control of starting the point.

Debra, who has struggled with weight issues throughout her life, can relate to the complaints she often hears about ill-fitting athletic clothing. Thirteen years ago, Debra, then a full time lawyer, resigned to become a stay at home at the end of her fourth pregnancy. She started playing tennis to get back into exercise and lose the baby weight. Frustrated by not being able to find comfortable tennis attire that fit properly, she started to sew her own outfits. She received many compliments on her creations and began selling tennis dresses with a partner from the back of her minivan, sewing at night after she put her daughters to bed. In 2000, she launched the website—www.AdInTennis.com. She quickly learned she couldn’t keep up with all of the sewing on her own, so she partnered with tailors to execute her designs. Debra is grateful to be able to combine her love of fashion and fitness and hopes to make Ad In Athletic and Ad In Tennis household names in athletic apparel, reaching out to active women of all sizes everywhere. In the last 13 years, Ad In has provided thousands of women affordable, attractive and comfortable active wear that fits. After all, a woman’s greatest advantage is feeling good about herself.
